Zur eliminated in K-1 500m

Rami Zur (Costa Mesa, Calif.) was eliminated in the men's single (K-1) 500m event by placing sixth in his semifinal Thursday afternoon at the Shunyi Rowing-Canoeing Park. His time of 1:47.163 was 4.725 seconds behind the winning effort of Adam van Koeverden of Canada, who posted a 1:42.438. Zur was 3.823 seconds behind the third-place boat of Australia's Ken Wallace, which was the cut-off to advance to Saturday's final.
