In addition to rowing, Caroline played water polo and basketball at Phillips Academy. She ran track as a freshman while attending high school in North Carolina, finishing eighth in state in the 300 hurdles. Caroline says she loves all kinds of music and is really into Akon and Teitur right now. Her first concert was Melissa Ferrick, and her first big concert was the Rolling Stones. Caroline also enjoys movies and watching "CSI." Her father, who has been a public defender in North Carolina for 30 years, and he played basketball at Duke University from 1966-69. Caroline says that he is one of her heroes in life because he has dedicated his life to serving people. After she gets done rowing, Caroline would like to attend law school and wants to focus on discrimination law. Caroline debuted in Greensboro, N.C., in 2002, and in 2003, she became a national debutante, debuting at the Debutante Cotillion Ball in Washington, D.C. She currently works at a start-up pharmaceutical company, Aton Pharma.
